Over the years, Hagerstown-area vocalist Lana Spence has developed a committed following of fans. And it’s no wonder. A veteran performer within numerous musical genres, Lana’s Janis-Joplin-esque vocal delivery has always been at the heart of it all. Recently, by teaming bassist Keith Sylvester of her usual band, Thique, with noted area blues guitarist John Turner and drummer Micheal Brady, Lana created Moondog Medicine Show. Moondog Medicine Show puts their own twist on classic blues numbers from the likes of Memphis Minnie, Big Mama Thornton, Buddy Guy and Muddy Waters and adds a funky twist with selections from Koko Taylor, Etta James and Denise LaSalle.
